Which websites can be scraped?
In principle, any public website can be scraped. Modern websites with JavaScript, AJAX, infinite scroll or 'Load more' buttons are no problem either. For websites with strong anti-bot protection (like Cloudflare), we use advanced IP rotation and automatic CAPTCHA bypass in the cloud. Not sure if a site can be scraped? How often is the data updated?
The scraper runs in the cloud on a schedule you determine: daily, weekly, or a custom interval. You don't need to keep your browser open - everything runs 24/7 on our servers. With each run, you automatically receive a notification as soon as the data is ready.
In what format do I receive the data?
We deliver the data as a CSV or JSON file by default. Additionally, integrations are possible with Google Sheets, Shopify (automatic product sync), Channable (as feed input), or via an API webhook for direct connection with your own system. Let me know your preference and I'll arrange it.
What if the website structure changes?
Data quality is automatically monitored. If a scraper produces empty or incomplete data due to a structural change on the source website, you'll get an immediate alert. Edwin then adjusts the scraper so it runs correctly again. This is included in your monthly subscription.
How quickly will my scraper be live?
After your order, Edwin builds the scraper within 48 hours. You receive a test file for approval, after which the scraper goes live on the agreed schedule. You don't need to install or configure anything yourself - everything is taken care of for you.
Is web scraping legal?
Web scraping of public data is allowed in most cases. We only scrape publicly available information and respect robots.txt guidelines and terms of service of source websites. For specific questions about data usage and GDPR, I can advise you.
Can I modify the scraper later?
Yes. Want to add extra fields, scrape a different website, or adjust the schedule? Contact Edwin and the change will be implemented. Small changes are included in your subscription. For larger adjustments or additional websites, you can take out a second scraper subscription.
